So I am in need of all fellow bloggers. I need to know how to freakin put myself into labor! I am in so much pain. I can't work anymore, I can't stand for that long. I have constant contractions when I stand up. I am sure alot of you can relate. So the other day I was have contractions like crazy, I was in a lot of pain. So we timed the contractions, but they weren't close enough to go up to the hospital, so we slept on it, in the morning, once again...PAIN! During this whole day I had everybody telling me to go to the hospital, what do I have to lose? Well I didn't go up til the next day, and thought-- my doc said that she wouldn't send me home, so why not. Wrong!! They sent me home. I haven't progressed enough since Thursday, I am only dilated to a 2 and 70% thinned. So the sweet little nurse sent me on my way. I really did think I would be ok with being sent home, I am sure it happens all the time, but I was way bummed and way embarrassed. As soon as the nurse walked out of the room after talking to my doc, I started bawling. I wasn't expecting that!( the crying, I'm not usually a crier, but this whole pregnancy has thrown me way off, I am all sorts of emotional!) Anyway- I need some good ideas. I know I know I am going to have some of you tell me she just isn't ready to come yet, she still needs to 'cook'. Well let me tell ya, she is done cooking as soon as someone has a good idea.! Thanks for listening to me vent!! I hope you all have a fabulous day! Oh and I wanted to thank all you lovely ladies that have come to my showers. I have loved seeing all of you, some of you it has been years, it was so good to catch up. Thanks again!

I am so sorry. That really does suck. But don't be embarassed - I have had friends go and get turned away. I am sure it happens all the time.
I will list all the things that I tried to put myself into labor that obviously didn't work because I went 3 days late: hiked up a mountain to cut down a Christmas tree and carry it back down the mountain, long walk, spicy and/or Indian food, sex, having my membranes stripped 3 times, ginger baths, a foot massage that the lady told me would guarantee to put me into labor, sex, taking raspberry tea leaf supplements, jumping jacks, squats, etc.
LOL. So those didn't work for me, but obviously some people claim they worked for them. The one thing I have heard works (although my doctor said not to do it, which is why it was not on my 'list') is castor oil. Ross' grandma is a nurse and said if someone took it everyone on the floor knew because you could smell it. But she also claims it worked too.
oh buddy... i know the feeling of being sent home! I thought my water was "leaking" with Cora. weird i know, but i went in and they told me it hadnt and to go home! i was pissed... i cried also! luckily my dr. was there delivering and came in and told the nurses he wanted me to stay. they were busy so they had me leave at 7 and go back at 10. wow 3 hours later i had dialated from a 2 to almost a 5! When they broke my water there was none! they were dumb telling me my water didnt break! my Dr. was a little annoyed at them! anyway now that i have gone on, i have heard billions of times that castor oil works, but one of my friends sisters wanted to have her baby before jan. 1 so she did that and her baby was in the nicu for 2 weeks, just got out monday! so ya! Good luck though. i cant wait to see the beautiful little babe!
According to Tausha, you were having her yesterday. I bet you wish you had. Don't be embarrased, I got sent home too and then went again the same day and had Ellie about an hour after going back the second time. As for you, I would suggest sex, spicy foods (if you don't get heartburn) or going for a long walk. Hopefully you will get to meet her real soon!
LItle missy do feel bad.. that happened to me too. I went in and got my membrains stipped and then they told me to come back in two hours to see if any contractions started.. well I went back and they did so they sent me up to get ready... well after 6 hours of being there.. they just stoped.. crazy i know but they did.. they sent me home to cause the hospital was really busy or else they would of started me the dr. said... SO im sorry.. I cried and did the same thing as you... but cheer up cause she will come and when she dose you will forget all about it... she is going to be sooo dang cute. im so excited for you... good luck...
I am so sorry!! My mom went into the hospital for false labor with me and I was the 4th child, you would think she would have known after 3 pregnancies but it's better to not take the chance. I have heard that pumping your boobies can help so you could try that. It didn't work for me but you never know. It helps contract the uterus. Sex has worked for my sister 3 times now so just tell Scotty that he is going to be getting really really lucky. Really though, as much as you want her here, it is so so so so much easier having her in your tummy and your crotch will hurt so tremendously bad after you have her even worse so enjoy not having your crotch on fire! (too graphic?)
I am so sorry that you are uncomfortable! Sorry that I don't have ideas now, but you will have them for me, when I am in the same situation coming up!
Good luck sweetie! Can't wait to see Scotland!
Love ya!
Shani I totally thought you were going to have this baby already I am so sorry I didn't know what was going on. I don't know what you want to do I know those last couple weeks are terrible and you just want to be soooooo done. I guess they can't strip your membraines yet. I remember Brandi drank that oil stuff I can't remember what its called is it castroil? That sent her into labor and she went to the hospital and they gave her something to stop the contractions because it was to early. So I think you might have to wait it out. I am sorry. I will talk to you soon.
I gave you all of my ideas for you at the shower. I guess the best thing is too keep moving.
Sooo did Bethel really set up a blog??
Oh shawni, I so feel your pain! It will soon be over and you will forget how horrible the end of pregnancy is because you will have your sweet preciosu baby girl.
You should do a lot of walking even though I know it hurts, and then have some sex and then walk some more and have more sex and so on and so on.....Both of those things are suppose to do the trick. Some people it works for and some it doesnt.I hope it works for you, So GOOD LUCK!
Cant wait to see pics of this little girl! XOXOXOXO
I wish I knew how to get you in labor.....sorry sweetheart! It was good to see you at your shower!
Ways for labor?? My mom says have sex! HA!! Sick. She says its not fun, and its not comfortable, and it takes a little enginuity to figure it out but she says she guarantees it puts you straight into labor!! GOOD LUCK!
Just keep thinking of the sleepless nights to come with the newborn and sleep lots!! That helped me!! HA! Love ya, can't wait to see the new babe!
Have you had her YET?????????????
Sorry0 I never had a single contraction or even dialated- so good Luck and hope everything is OK with that baby and that she's healthy!!
Oh Shawni it will all be worth it when it's over. I've already almost forgotten how uncomfortable you get in those last few weeks. All I can say is make sure Scotty is putting in his dues and rubbing your back and your feet and all that other good stuff! Take advantage of it now while you have an excuse! Even though I am sure Scotty is nice enough he probably does those things for you anyways! I'm so sorry you are so uncomfortable but it will all be over soon enough! I don't have any ideas for ya since I had a c-section and all but maybe you should take that lady up on her offer and go jump on her mini tramp! HAHAHA and make sure to take some pictures of it! Love Ya!
Clary Sage Oil! It honestly works, it's so potent that they tell pregnant women to stay FAR FAR away because it puts you right into labor! My sister's sister in law smelled some and 5 hours later she had a baby!
I'm just saying!
You may have already had the baby... I don't know. I got turned away the first time too, and also - cried. If you're still around, someone told me that black licorice works?? I don't know, it might be worth a try! Can't wait to see cute pics of your new baby!
Hey Shawni...Yes I remember you Ü
