GIRL!! Well the doc thinks!! We went yesterday for a check up. She tried to agitate the baby so it would move around, but she just didn't want to do that much! So after a little bit of trying, she started kicking her legs, and there it was... Nothing!! ( or a sad sad little boy! I shouldn't say that, my luck it'll grow a penis by the next time I go in!) So we are so excited. I am going to try to refrain myself from going shopping crazy!
SO I am supposed to be 17 and half weeks along, so by this time the baby should weigh 5 oz. Well, I am bound and determined that I am further along. They say I shouldn't really be able to feel the baby yet, especially cuz I am a little chubby! But I have felt the baby, not alot, but a bit.And get this, She weighs 9OZ!! Almost double what the "average" is supposed to be!! Either I am going to have an AMAZON of a child, or I had a period while pregnant. What do you think???help me out here!

You can totally have periods while you're pregnant. It has happened to lots of women. In fact, a lady in my ward has them off and on throughout pregnancy. They call it "spotting" but she says they are the same as her normal periods. You can especially get them at the beginning because I think it has to do with the embryo implanting onto the placenta wall or something like that. I haven't researched it tons so don't take what I just said as doctrine, but I know it happens to quite a few women. Weird, huh? Anyway, I knew I was further along then they kept saying I was. They moved my due date back 2 times! At my first appt. they moved my due date back 10 days! It was very frustrating. In the end, she came early, making me think I was for sure farther along than they always said I was. Anyway, that's exciting. Little girls are so much fun!

Congrats! We love girls at our house! And I have to say that you probably had a period while pregnant! That makes the most sense!
That is one funny post! You're hilarious! It probably is a girl cause I was 16 weeks with emett and could clearly see his little penis. Unless like you said it's one "sad sad little boy"!!!
And yah, that'd be awesome if you're farther along, but try not to get your hopes up for that cause I think also at 16 weeks I was feeling him move too.

i'm so excited shawn!! i think knowing the sex of the baby makes it more real that you guys are going to be parents and i'm going to have another cute niece!! :-) I would think that you are farther along, like carlee said it is normal...I didn't have them at first, but I did have a day of bleeding if you will like half way through...freaked the crap out of me. anywho, i'm guessing i'll see you tomorrow since your mu's is here! I have herd of many people having periods during the first of pregancy. Usually they are not as heavy though. The doctor should be able to tell you how far along your baby is measuring.
Have you thought of any names yet?

Little girls are so much fun. Good luck controling yourself with the shopping - I still have a hard time ;) I am so excited for ya. And usually mom's have better instinct than doctors. I swear. But you might also have a super active baby. I felt Anna way early and she was always kicking me, so you never know. If that is the case all I can say is good luck to ya ;)

Wahoo! I'm so excited for you Shawni! A little girl!!! I can't wait to see what you name her. When he found out Linc was a boy, he wouldn't move around either. So Mike, my husband, made me do handstands to bug him. It was crazy, but at least it worked!
Yahoo!!!!! Girls are the BEST!!! I never had a period while pregnant, but I hear you can! If the baby is measuring double, I would assume that you are farther along than you are. Don't get your hopes up because they can definately get things wrong. They got numbers wrong on one of my tests and said that Aubree had downs, but she didn't. So who knows!!!!!
